The Maze in Fallout: Lonestar was made to be a puzzle of traversal for the player. The level is confusing and easy yo get lost in. It also gives an environmental story of good intentions gone ill.
While the Sewer was made to elicit jump scares, The Maze was made to make players uncomfortable. The haze effects used, the confusing layout, and the wandering masked Disciples of Dust in their lab coats, all add to the ambiance.
The Pharmacy is the entrance to the Disciple of Dust’s section of The Maze. Behind the counter is where the Disciples do their experiments.. The Christmas lights make a juxtaposition against the ambiance of the rest of The Maze.
Past the Pharmacy are the Disciples of Dusts' labs. The environmental storytelling really shows hear. People in pods, locked to chairs, being forced to look at strange scenes are all shown behind red curtains. The lab equipment beyond the experiments show the output of the Disciples in the region.
